Welcome to NurseOperated, a site dedicated to helping nurses change the world through business. I firmly believe that starting a business is the only true way for the vast majority of Americans to enjoy any real degree of financial independence and security.
Nurses are ideally suited to starting a business.
- We know how to work hard.
- We have stable income that giving us time to develop a business.
- We have funky, often flexible schedules with lots of free time (assuming you’re not working overtime).
- We’re always meeting people that we can learn from.
- And most important of all…nurses are about service. Ultimately that’s what business is about. Finding a need, meeting a need, and getting paid for it.
My goal is to help you help people, grow a business, and become successful—both in business and in life.
For the past seven years, I have been the Associate Dean of a small Christian University’s Nursing program. Although I haven’t been a business owner, I’ve essentially run one as a subsidiary of a larger organization. But large organizations are bureaucratic, and I want the freedom of starting a business. It’s why at ripe “old” age of 41, I’ve started my own online business, and I hope that you can join me on the journey.
I’m interested in this business thing but not sure I want to start one.
If you’re completely new to business and are not even sure what you want to do, I have a free e-mail course that covers the basics of why you should start a business and how you can get started. I also highly recommend joining the Fizzle online entrepreneur community. They have a free trial where you can take several professionally developed video courses starting and growing an online business.

I’ve got a killer idea for business, but I’m not sure what to do.
If you have a business idea but aren’t quite sure how to go about getting it started, I have a free e-mail course that walks you through the steps of setting up your business and putting you on the right track to success.

I’ve got a business, and I’m making some money, but making more money would be nice.
If you have a business and would like to help take it to the next level, I specialize in client communication and can help you increase your sales by attracting more leads, converting those leads to e-mail subscribers, and increasing your sales conversions. I have a free e-mail course that discusses my approach.

Can I hire you to…
At all three levels, I can provide business coaching but I only work with people who have taken my free e-mail courses, so if you’d like to work with me, sign up for a free e-mail course, learn about my philosophy, style, and approach to business.
What if I’m not a nurse?
Well, I’m sure you’re a very nice person, but please go somewhere else. Just kidding. Most of the principles that I teach and talk about will still apply, even if you’re not a nurse, so feel free to stick around.
I want to interview you!
I would like to highlight successful nurse entrepreneurs, so if you own or run a business or charity, contact me. I’d like to post an online interview and article profiling you and your business.
In addition to the free e-mail courses, I will be adding articles and resources to this website on a regular basis.
For now, check out my resources page that has links to the resources I mention in my free e-mail courses. These are affiliate links, so if you click on them and end up purchasing, I’ll get a commission. If you’re interested in having me set up the resource for you or referring you to someone competent, I can do that…but sign up for the e-mail course first.
A little more about me… for those of you that like to read to the bottom of the page.
